RJ48 uses differential signals for transmission, also known as differential signalling. This is a method where the signal is transmitted as the difference between two conductors, resulting in optimised noise suppression and increased resilience to interference. This ensures better signal quality when networks operate in environments with a high potential for electromagnetic interference, such as near high-voltage power lines. For additional protection, RJ48 network cables typically use shielding to further reduce external influences on the signal being transmitted.
Server clusters for optimised performance and availability
To handle workloads as efficiently as possible with high scalability and availability, multiple servers can be combined in a clustered network. The cluster controller provides the necessary network connections and performs specific functions to control communication and coordinate the servers within the cluster. The expansion card is installed into a slot on the motherboard or in the PCIe riser (PCI-Express) to enhance the functionality of server clusters and performs different tasks depending on the model and existing infrastructure.
