ProLiant DL560 servers support the latest technical standards for server components in each generation. The motherboard features four processor sockets that can accommodate Intel Xeon CPUs (central processing units) of various chip generations and performance classes. The processors can access a large amount of memory, which can be configured with the appropriate RAM modules (Random Access Memory) in a large number of DIMM slots (Dual In-line Memory Module) of the corresponding DDR RAM standards. The proven ECC technology (Error Correcting Code) to reduce memory errors also enables the server to be used for memory-intensive applications.

Multiple PCIe risers allow the chassis to accommodate a wide range of PCI Express expansion cards of different generations and sizes, such as graphic cards and compute accelerators, as well as network cards or controllers for storage management or remote maintenance. The systems are equipped with powerful chassis fans and CPU heatsinks for consistent high performance in continuous operation. Depending on the server generation, optional liquid cooling can be integrated for processors with higher heat dissipation, as an alternative to traditional air cooling.
