Depending on the generation, they support the third- or fourth-generation PCI Express standard (PCIe), which allows a half-height, half-length (low-profile) expansion card to be installed in the PCIe riser. In addition, an optional iLO Enablement Kit (Integrated Lights-Out) can be installed here to provide the MicroServer with remote management capabilities for remote maintenance. For easy integration of the server into the existing network environment, the units have an integrated network card with up to four RJ45 ports, which, with a data transfer rate of 1 Gbit/s, provide sufficient transfer speed for many applications. Peripherals and other external devices can be connected via the existing USB ports, and a DisplayPort connection is often available in addition to the VGA port for transmitting the image signal to a monitor.
